The Civilian Board of Contract Appeals employs as law clerks a select few high-quality law students for unpaid internships during the Fall and Spring academic semesters. Spring and Fall Law Clerks assist Board Judges by conducting legal research, drafting legal memoranda, preparing analyses of facts, assisting in the preparation of orders and decisions, attending hearings and taking part in mediations.
Academic Credit
A Spring or Fall Law Clerk may receive academic credit for the internship, but it is not required by the Board. Students should check with their law school for information about receiving credit.
Schedule and Work Hours
Spring and Fall Law Clerks are required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week for not less than 12 weeks during the Fall or Spring academic semesters. Law clerks are required to work in the Board's offices.

The Board accepts applications during the time intervals indicated below. The later date is the deadline by which the application package must be received by the Board to be considered.
Applications are accepted until 11:59 PM Eastern Time on the final day of the application period.
If an application is received outside of the time periods noted above, it will not be opened and will be deleted without further consideration.
